There was once a gate that bordered the cemetery, and this looks like the last remnant of it. I can't imagine what this looked like. This picture also shows the ground cover in the area.
I am guessing that this is some wildflower; perhaps this could be the small flower garden in the area.
Here is the hillside, near the cemetery. According to Dr. Camarata, young juveniles in the area used to come to this cemetery and throw the stones over this hillside. We found some small pieces of trash to indicate that there has been someone in the cemetery area sometime. He also told us that recently members of one of the families had come to carry the stones back to the cemetery. I am guessing that it might have been a member of the Bond family since we found so many of the Bond stones remaining. It also helps to explain why the stones were all leaning on the trees.
