19 October 1911 (obituary)
ETHEL ELIZABETH CUMMINGS was born near Winamac, Pulaski county, Indiana on October 30th 1892. She departed this life on Oct 3, of 1911 at the age of 18y11m3d.

When 9, she gave her heart to Jesus during a revival at the Christian Union church of Cynthiana conducted by the Revs. McKIBBEN and FERNEAU and has ever since lived a consistent Christian life.

Though never of robust health she was ever thoughtful and kind hearted. Her gentle manner won for her a host of warm friends. Her kindly disposition and genial manner endeared her to all with whom she was associated and in days to come there are many who will miss her familiar form and kindly greetings.

In the home she was a loving and obedient daughter, a gentle and affectionate sister and in her last sickness was never heart to murmur or complain, but bore her afflictions with Christian fortitude. If her sickness had been full of suffering the end was full of peace as breathing more and more softly, she fell sweetly asleep and her spirit wen to join the loved ones who had gone before.

About one year ago, Ethel was taken to the hospital and underwent a surgical operation and for awhile it seemed that she would recover. But as time wore on it was soon found that her case was beyond human aid. She leaves a stepfather, a mother, two sisters, and host of young friends to mourn their loss.

Brief funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev . RABB, after which the remains were followed to Pisgah by a large number of sympathizing friends and Rev. BIAS conducted the regular funeral service, after which the body was laid to rest by the side of her father and little brother.
