HOUSDEN posted by Vicky DRAKE on Wednesday, April 29, 1998

Edmon/Edwin/Edward HOUSDEN was born 1790 in Culpeper County Va. He is named in his father's will in 1800 and then disappears until I find him in the 1830 Delaware County In. census . By 1832 he is in Grant County, Indiana (suspect this is a change in county lines rather than a move)with a young family. At that time his wife is a Cassandra. Where is he for those 40 years? I suspect he has a family that I don't know anything about. There is an Elizabeth HOUSDEN from Delaware County who is about the third person to enter land in Grant County in 1831. I have no idea who she is. In the 1840 census there is also a John J HOUSDEN, old enought to be Edward's brother, in Grant County. Edward doesn't purchase land in Grant County until about 1834. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm more than happy to share what I have.

HOUSDEN posted by Vicky DRAKE on Wednesday, April 29, 1998

Looking for any information about a Margaret HOUSDEN. She was the third person to enter land in Grant County in 1831. She was supposedly living in Delaware County at the time. I have lots of HOUSDEN information but none about this woman. To date all HOUSDENs in this country prior to 1900 have proven to have descended from the same immigrant ancestor.
