Jacob HAMMAN, b 17 Nov 1785, married Elizabeth MOCK, b 9 May1801, on 2 May 1826 in Tuscarawas County, OH. Moved to Kosciusko Co, IN about 1845. I am looking for parents of Elizabeth MOCK. Likely candidates are brothers John MOCK or George MOCK, both of whom came to Kosciusko Co with their families from Tuscarawas Co, OH about 1847. It's also possible Elizabeth could have been the younger sister of these brothers.

Marie HAMMAN, b 1834, was the daugther of Jacob HAMMAN and married Daniel MANIER, b 1835, on 1 June 1859. I am looking for the ancestors of Daniel MANIER and descendants of the MANIER/HAMMAN family. Marie died in 1879 and it is likely that Daniel remarried. But they are not in the1880 Kosciusko Co Census.

Henry MONTGOMERY--served in Civil War from 3/7/1864-7/19/1865. Cpl.of Co. H 129th Reg.of Indiana Infantry Volunteers. Died in Oswego in 1866. Born Capelton VT @1821. Married Caroline HAMPTON. Children--3 daughters,1 son. Birthdates a little sketchy--1858, 1860, 1864 and ?. (From old insurance policy of Albert Alonzo MONGOMERY, the only son). Sisters named are May and Zenuth. I know nothing other than this. Is anyone searching this line? I think the names, Albert Alonzo and Zenuth are mighty unusual. Do these names speak to anyone? TIA--Dixie Hougen

I am mainly interested in a GRIFFITH line that lived in KosciuskoCo., mostly in Washington twnshp, from about 1842 to the late part of the1800's. One of the family lines they married into was PHILLIPS which I also have a bit of information on. The primary person I'm looking for is a John Griffith, b. about 1800 in PA and disappeared from the census records by 1860. I'm guessing he may have died about 1858 but have no direct information to support that. His wife, Margaret, lived well into the 1900's and was last known of in South Whitley, IN living with or near her daughter,Sarah Ella COMPTON.

I'm researching the John McGuire & Martha Charles family that was in Indiana from the late 1850's to the mid 1860's. On the 1860's Census they were in Kosciusko Co. and then went to Vigo Co. He purchased land in MO in 1865. John married Mary (Emmington)Butler after Martha died. The oldest son Jacob was in the Civil War and died at Andersonville from what I've been told. I have a picture of Jacob but do not know what unit he served in.
