I am researching my GANS family ancestry. My great-great grandfather was John J GANS born about 1839. He married an Elizabeth WOOLF. I have found two John GANS on the Stark County 1850 census records and I am not too sure which one is my line. I noticed the one the siblings on the Washington Township census record was David GANS. Their father was John GANS with the mother being Elizabeth. The other John GANS was listed in Lake Township with father Benjamin GANS and mother Susana. It this David GANS a brother to John GANS my ancestor? The age of John or Jonathan was 11, which would be about the age of my g g grandfather. If you know this is my line please let me know as I would appreciate it very much. Also if this is my line I would appreciate any other information you could give me.
